If we can't find someone else to play the role, I am considering running for Mayor of Lindsborg on the Power Party ticket. I will use this campaign to promote the community energy ideas outlined below. This is speculative at this point, and anyone can play this role who might want it, we simply need a figurehead to give us access to the political process, so we can use it as a launching platform for nationwide community energy organizing based on this model.
Once again, the offer is out there now, if someone else local with the energy and interest to play this role for our fledgling organization wants the challenge, by all means, jump on it, but until I hear otherwise, I plan to be that "Power to the People" candidate in Lindsborg's next mayoral election.
We ARE The People, we PAY the utility bills. yet our government is run by the power industry, not We, The People.
With POWER, we will gain back our power.

Lindsborg's city government, like any city, goes through changes over the years. In this ebb and flow of influence, sometimes the local government takes the lead in making historic change, and sometimes it plays catch-up.
The ups and downs that result from this timing mismatch can be very trying for a small town, especially in times of great political transition, such as the one we are now experiencing.
This blog is dedicated to leveling out that graph, so we can step boldly into the 21st Century, unencumbered by stodgy prejudice and knee-jerk resistance to new innovations that benefit the entire community, not just a select few at the expense of the others.
This blog is dedicated to giving a voice to that unrepresented majority, the non-voters and the disgruntled voters who believe thier words fall on deaf ears.
Feel free to make a statement, if you feel like your suggestions to the city are ignored, or that the matters you wanted to have a voice in had all been decided long before the debate ever occurred, then this blog's for YOU!
This blog's for you if, like me, you feel like your taxes and utility rates shouldn't be viewed by anyone as a personal ATM for pet construction projects and city-government bureaucratic expansion.
And, this blog is meant for anyone who thinks their ideas might help their fellow citizens and the councilmembers they elect to guage the public will.
Then you will know that the general public has access to your ideas and proposals in our archives, and they won't get buried in administrative red tape.
